Welcome to Autism

Friendly Killarney

Killarney is proud to champion inclusivity, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for autistic individuals and their families. Our Autism-Friendly Initiative works with local businesses, services, and organisations to make our town more accessible, ensuring everyone can fully engage in community life.

As a non-profit run by a voluntary committee, we are committed to fostering autism inclusion. Over 30 businesses in Killarney have been recognised as Autism-Friendly Champions, providing sensory-friendly environments, trained staff, and accessible services. We continue to expand this network, making Killarney even more inclusive.

From sensory-friendly attractions and accommodations to inclusive festivals and services, we strive to ensure individuals with additional needs feel safe, valued, and supported. Whether you’re a resident or visitor, you’ll find resources to enhance your experience.

Together, we can create a more inclusive future where everyone has the #SameChance in everyday life.

About Us

Our committee is made up of a diverse group of people who bring lived experience, professional insight, and a shared passion for inclusion. This includes autistic individuals, family members, a community nurse, a teacher, local county councillors, local business representatives, and dedicated autism advocates.
Together, we work to raise awareness, support local organisations in becoming autism-friendly, and champion positive change throughout our town. Our goal is simple: to ensure Killarney is a place where everyone feels welcomed, understood, and supported.
